Sarah Slean - Out In The Park [acoustic]
When I first heard this song, I passed it off altogether. It wasn’t the kind of music I was into at the time and I didn’t appreciate it for what it was. A few years ago a girl I was madly in love with randomly put this video on and I found myself transfixed. It still wasn’t the kind of music I was into, but her pure passion and absolute genuine happiness while singing pulled me in and stirred me.
Sarah Slean is a perfect example of what a musician should be - the joy she gets from singing is absolutely infectious if you just give it a minute to permeate you. You just have to be open to the experience.
Lee Aaron is a Canadian singer and songwriter who started off on a metal and rock career and moved her way onto other styles and projects. I saw her a couple of years ago at Rock and Roll Heaven in Scarborough with a friend and she was still amazing and her voice just as phenomenal. I think it’s because of women like her and Debbie Harry that have led me to adore strong female singers so much, especially those in the genre of rock.
